Sven Völcker founded Populi Productions in 2025 to create a new voice for the production of independent films.  His focus is on writing and producing full-length feature films. His favored genres are thriller, drama, and romantic comedy.  He is Executive Producer on Tell Me a Secret, the forthcoming feature film by Montana Mann, and is developing several other projects, including the dramedy Beat Drop.  He is also a member of the Sundance Institute’s Catalyst Program. 

After a highly successful 30-year career as an antitrust lawyer in Brussels, Sven is now based in Madrid.  He holds a doctorate from Bonn University, a master’s degree from Havard Law School, and is an Honorary Professor at Göttingen University.

In addition to his native German, Sven is fluent in English, French and Spanish.  He is also an enthusiastic amateur endurance athlete, having completed more than a dozen full-distance triathlon races, including the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
