Our Founder

Sven Völcker founded Populi Productions in 2025 to create a new voice for the production of independent films.  His focus is on writing and producing full-length feature films.  His favored genres are thriller, drama, and romantic comedy.  He is Executive Producer on Tell Me a Secret, the forthcoming feature film by Montana Mann, and is developing several other projects, including the romantic comedy Beat Drop.

Sven is a German national now based in Madrid after three decades of living in Brussels.  He studied at the Universities of Kiel and Bonn, and obtained his master’s degree at Havard Law School.  He practiced antitrust and competition law as a partner in two leading international law firms and taught at Göttingen University an Honorary Professor.

In addition to his native German, Sven is fluent in English, French and Spanish.  He is also an enthusiastic amateur endurance athlete, having completed more than a dozen full-distance triathlon races, including the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
